Automaton from the greek automatos (αὐτόματος) meaning spontaneous or self-moving. Machine that imitates the figure and movements of an animate being.

From prehistoric times to the present day, human beings have tried to give life to inanimate objects, sometimes to improve their living conditions, sometimes as an artistic manifestation, perhaps in search of the meaning of their own existence.

This album is inspired by the search for knowledge through mechanics and society's relationship with increasingly sophisticated devices. Perhaps one day we will find a way to live in peace through the lessons that our own creations can offer us.

I've been also been inspired by the poems from Edgar Allan Poe, Alfred Vigny, Miguel Hernández, Joan Valls and Pastor Aicart.

■ Equipment used: Korg Z1, Korg Trinity, Korg Wavestation, Yamaha FS1r, Clavia G2x, Roland VP-03, Roland Super JV-1080, Roland D-50.
